Electrical Requirements

 1. Maximum amp draw for the popcorn machine at 120 volts is 10.5 amps.  You should have a 15 amp dedicated outlet to run this machine.  An overloaded electric circuit will not allow the popcorn machine to heat properly.  Extension cords should not be used with this machine.  However if an extension cord is absolutely needed, it must be at least 12 gauge, and no longer than 50’ in length.

2. The power supply cord connected to the machine is equipped with a machine ground (the tubular prong). For safety, always plug the machine into a grounded receptacle.  Do not use an adapter. You must have the popcorn machine grounded! No exceptions!!!

Operating Instructions

1. Note: This machine is capable of producing 120 1oz servings per hour.

2. Place the tabletop machine on a sturdy table or countertop with the controls facing the operator.  Place the antique machine in the proper position on the cart with the controls facing the back/open side of the cart.

3. There are 3 switches on the popper: Light and Warmer Kettle Motor Kettle Heat

4. To begin, for the  first batch only, turn on the kettle heat and wait 4-5 minutes.

5. Switch on the Kettle Motor, and Light / Warmer switches.

6. Add the pre-measured oil or oil bar, and then add the popcorn and flavoring into the kettle. Close lid.         NOTE:  To avoid serious burns do NOT touch the kettle while it is hot.

7. Dump the kettle when the popping is about 99% completed.  Do not wait for all popping to stop; popcorn will burn. Some unpopped kernels are normal.

8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for as many batches you wish to do in a row. Optimum performance is typically reached after 3-4 batches.

9. On the final batch of a sequence only, turn the kettle heat off as soon as the corn starts popping rapidly enough to raise the kettle lid.  This will help to eliminate smoke and odor after popping.  Keep kettle heat off when not popping.

10. After dumping out your final batch, turn off the kettle motor switch.

11. When finished for the day, make sure all switches are in the off position.   Unplug machine before cleaning.

 Cleaning

1. When completing the final batch of popcorn, turn the kettle heat off.

2. After dumping out the final batch of popcorn, turn off the kettle motor.

3. Let the kettle cool until it is not too hot to handle, but still warm. (About 15 minutes) NOTE:  To avoid serious burns do NOT touch the kettle while it is hot.

4. Unplug the kettle and remove it from the machine.  Do NOT immerse kettle in water.

5. With a cloth or paper towel, wipe out the inside of the kettle, the kettle lids, and the outside of the kettle.

6. Unplug machine.

7. Remove all excess popcorn from the bottom of the machine.

8. Pull out the old maid tray in the bottom of the machine and dump unpopped kernels into the trash.  Wipe out the tray and place it back in the machine.

9. Wipe the body of the machine with a glass spray to clean the windows, inside and out.
